Our Approach

RJ Squared utilizes several strategies to work with professionals and organizations to address systemic issues that are the drivers behind racial and social disparities. RJ Squared does this through a modified lens of the Ecological Model of Behavior Change for Transformative Practice.

The first strategy area is training. RJ Squared has designed the Critical Foundations of Reproductive Justice (RJ) training, which is provided via 2 modalities. A 2-day in person training and an online, asynchronous 3 part training module.While training is an individual professional development we encourage team members within an organization to engage in training together as a primer for progressing their transformative practice.

The second strategy area focuses on engaging organizations in an assessment of their policies and practices and assessing their alignment with the tenets of RJ. These assessments aim to understand the organization's current practices and culture, identify areas for improvement, and guide strategic planning for implementing and advancing initiatives contributing to a more equitable environment for historically excluded groups.

The third strategy area focuses on building community capacity related to RJ and developing policies. This strategy focuses on structural change through working across sectors that engage with historically excluded communities through ongoing efforts. ​​
